Throughout history, there are numerous feuding families that we've all read about. Because of this, I was intrigued to take the chance at a political/suspense feature. Getting into the book took a minute as it's quite a different genre than I've been reading over the past few months. But when I got a few chapters in and began learning more about the history of the two feuding families, I was hooked. The Pinebox Vendetta is like Pandora's Box when it opens, ripping wounds wide open, ripe for re-infection.
Samantha, her daughter Joss, and numerous others are pulled into the feud, putting lives and futures in danger. I found myself tightly gripping the book, anxiously flashing my eyes across each page, wondering how the political/familial controversy meshed with our world today.
Each character has his/her own hidden secret that will potentially blow them up or accelerate them into a better life. Rock Pruitt actually wins me over, despite his incredible horrid personality, behavior, and actions. He has a draw of that "bad boy" type that you can't help but want to be there through all of his reckless decisions.
Such a strong read outside my norm that I will definitely be looking forward to book two!
