My Thoughts:

This was my first Connie Queen novel and I can honestly say that it won't be my last. The suspense kicks off right from the beginning and effortlessly pulls you into questioning where the case is leading. I'm a firm believer in fate and this case is clearly one of that for Kennedy and Silas. On a personal note, I love Silas's name - it is the name of my late brother.

Fate leads this pair to the case and swiftly pulls them in on a personal level. Silas can't help but wonder if Kennedy is actually the young girl of the old case she is investigating. As a good neighbor and Texas Ranger, Silas gets involved when he rescues Kennedy when she goes for an interview with the missing girls' mother. A romance blossoms, supporting the duo through their adventurous investigation.

The pacing was consistent in keeping me intrigued from start to finish. The characters are written well, giving you insight as to how each one approaches their role in the story. The twists help add to the suspense and questioning of how everything connects. If you love a book that keeps the suspense building from page to page, you won't be disappointed!
