The Girl Who Escaped | Mark Nolan

One month ago, four college girls were abducted. Three were brutally murdered. One girl escaped.

Angie Taylor was traumatized and shocked speechless.

The police think she killed her friends, and then had a mental breakdown.

Her psychiatrist believes she has an emotionally unstable personality disorder.

Can she ever speak up and describe the killer’s face to a police sketch artist?

Is the murderer stalking her right now, eager to finish what he started?

Everyone in the city is on edge, fearing the worst, not sure what to believe.

A visit from a determined FBI agent shakes things up and raises the stakes. FBI Special Agent Brenda Reynolds of the VSRT must investigate whether the mysterious silent girl is a victim, a killer, or has gone insane.

Readers are saying...

"Wonderful well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start."

"This was the first Mark Nolan book I have read and it will not be the last. This was a fast-paced, thriller, with an amazing plot and great character building." "Great plot; wonderful cohesive characters; talk about action packed; thriller,... oh yeah from page one through the end! Once you start this book you CANNOT put it down - trust me. "

"I have not read a good mystery thriller in such a long time. The Girl Who Escaped was AMAZING! 5 stars AMAZING! Mark Nolan kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time."

My Thoughts:

Whoa! Talk about aligning the headline stories on the news! I finished this book and then read about the college kids in Idaho. Looking back, that just makes this book even more chilling! Add to that, I have a kid who is heading off to college in a little over a year.

Mark Nolan has always been an author I can turn to when I want to read something thrilling, adventurous, and clever (whether it be in the twists of the mystery or with my favorite character of his - Cody - the dog). This latest book did not disappoint.

FBI Special Agent Brenda Reynolds is determined to help Angie unlock her mind on the incident. Her tenacity to get answers and find the killer is admirable. Too often, women sleuths are portrayed as cold and almost robotic. I could easily relate to Mark's characters!

All of the triggers and situations are current with headlines you'll see in the news, keeping you on your toes imagining that this could easily be all too real. The chapters are written a little short, but it definitely helps keep the story moving at a pace that you can't slow down and overthink.

I have volunteered to share my review and all the opinions are 100% my own.
