My Thoughts:
Although this can be read as a standalone, I HIGHLY recommend reading the first three in the series to get the full effect of the location, characters, and the building of suspense, along with the steamy romances!
Laiken is such a breath of fresh air, even with her internal and external wounds. Through Catherine's words, I could feel the pain, the big heart, and sweetness within this woman. Capturing her own pain through art was genius and brought me to tears several times. I loved her ability to adapt and care for herself, although it was nice to see her let some of the wall down for Boden to climb aboard.
Boden is unlike any movie star I've ever known -- and I love it. He's very down to earth, real, and deep. He's experienced a lot of heartache and pain of his own. Like Laiken, some of that pain has closed him off, but when the soul finds its missing piece, things align, blossoming into something beautiful.
Together, their healing is absolutely breathtaking. The tragedy they experience is twisted up to the point where my chin literally hit my chest when all was revealed. On top of the beautiful read, what a gorgeous cover! As I've previously said for the first three books of the series, things keep getting better and better in Wolf Gap.
