Everywhere To Hide
by Siri Mitchell
Tour October 1 - October 31, 2020
Synopsis
How can she protect herself from an enemy she can’t see?
Law school graduate Whitney Garrison is a survivor. She admirably deals with an abusive boyfriend, her mother’s death, mounting student debt, dwindling job opportunities, and a rare neurological condition that prevents her from recognizing human faces.
But witnessing a murder might be the crisis she can’t overcome.
The killer has every advantage. Though Whitney saw him, she has no idea what he looks like. He knows where she lives and works. He anticipates her every move. Worst of all, he’s hiding in plain sight and believes she has information he needs. Information worth killing for. Again.
As the hunter drives his prey into a net of terror and international intrigue, Whitney’s only ally, Detective Leo Baroni, is taken off the case. Stripped of all semblance of safety, Whitney must suspect everyone and trust no one—and hope to come out alive.

Everywhere To Hide caught my attention because of the unique challenge that the main character faced - face blindness. I'd never heard of the disease and found it to be quite intriguing. The story is told in first-person by Whitney Garrison. She is struggling to make ends meet while preparing for her bar exam when she finds herself in the middle of a murder investigation.
Whitney's condition makes identifying the murderer nearly impossible. She also isn't able to recognize the murder victim. She's already under a tremendous amount of stress with her debt, work/tutoring schedules, studying, and the recent break from an abusive relationship. Now, a stalker is wreaking havoc on her life -- and she can't see who is right in front of her.
I had to pace myself and re-read several bits about bitcoin, cryptocurrency, etc. I am not well-versed in these areas, but the author does a great job detailing them enough to grasp the issues at hand.
At the start of the book, I had a hard time connecting with Whitney; but it didn't take long to understand how her condition and the mountain of weight on her shoulders would cause her distance. Her re-blossoming happens slowly and helps keep your interest. I love how her relationship develops with Leo (the detective from the murder she stumbled upon). She is encouraging with those whom she tutors and eventually learns to internally shift that mindset.
Intriguing from start to finish -- I highly recommend this book for anyone who enjoys reading suspense.
