Guest book review by Carly Louise Wilson
‘Deadly Weapon’ is the new book from Mark Nolan and is the fifth book in the Jake Wolfe series. If you love action-packed suspense novels, then this is a book for you.
Jake Wolfe is enjoying some much needed downtime in Alaska, Salmon fishing with his friend Tuktu, and his trusty sidekick Cody the Golden Retriever Support dog. But if Jake thought he’d be allowed to enjoy some peace, he is sorely mistaken, for it isn’t long before a Helicopter and a message from Washington D.C interrupts, cutting his break short.
His new mission -dangerous as always - threatens not only his life but those of innocent citizens, and everyone is counting on Jake and Cody to help save the day.
I love Nolan’s writing style, it is fast-paced and keeps you on the edge of your seat, with your heart pounding and a need to know whether he will manage to succeed in his latest mission. There is non-stop action, and the plot was realistic, and very prominent with the events currently being experienced in today’s society, and the threat is very real. It certainly as a reader makes you think.
I’m a huge fan of this series, and always feel a rush of excitement upon learning of a new addition to the collection. The imagery is always on point, and I can picture Jake and Cody clearly in my mind, and all the settings they encounter.
Perfect read for those wanting to read a good suspenseful book, or get stuck into a fast-paced series. Nolan is a master in his genre, and I can’t wait to see if there will be a sixth book.
