What a fun collection of connected stories! If you're a fan of any bake-off show, these stories will get your kitchen cookin' in a heartbeat. I love a small town setting with the typical cast of characters from the heroes and heroines to the good-meaning meddlers. In this book, they're the Knotty Elves!
Each story unfolded a new layer to this cozy read. Even though each story is short, the authors created excellent descriptions that made you feel like you were a part of the action. I could smell the treats as they were made and felt like I was wrapped up in a warm hug through the emotions. That's something I often find lacking in short stories; but this did exactly the opposite.
If you read books based on tropes, you get the best all wrapped up in one book. You'll discover friends to lovers, second chances, competitors to lovers, and more. Christmas-themed stories also bring a lot to the table by sharing unique and cultural traditions, in addition to the small town quirkiness. Every town needs a gazebo on town squares!
