An Alaskan Family Found | Beth Carpenter

A temporary summer arrangement…

Or their new forever?

Alaskan peony farmer Caleb DeBoer can barely keep up with the weeds—let alone his willful teen daughter and being short-staffed at the start of wedding season. Luckily, sunny counselor Gen Rockford could really use a summer job and a place for her girls to live. Now what began as the perfect solution for Gen and Caleb is transforming into one unforgettable summer. But will one little secret ruin it all?

My Thoughts:

This is such a sweet, well-written romance! Set in Alaska, I enjoyed the imagery that was created, making the story fully-immersive. Caleb and Gen are a great match from the very beginning, first as parent/guidance counselor, then as boss/employee, and eventually as a couple. There are a few bumps in the road for them as exes are involved. But together, they find healing and a happiness that they have never had before.

Fleur, Evie, and Maya often stole the show, adding sass and humor in all of the right moments. I loved when they found the kittens and Gen was persuaded to keep them. She was putting down roots without fully realizing it. Her heart knew exactly where it wanted to be before her mind caught up. A secret threatens to turn everyone's world upside down, but is beautifully executed to give your heart the flutters it deserves with this couple.

If you love a sweet romance with low-level drama, this will be a book you'll want to grab.

About the Author:

Beth Carpenter grew up on a farm reading everything she could get her hands on, from cereal boxes to the encyclopedia. Saturday visits to the library were the highlight of her week. Due to motion sickness, she couldn't read on the school bus so she made up her own stories instead.

She still consumes books like popcorn and loves to create happy endings for her imaginary friends. She believes dogs, books, and laughter are key to happiness. And dark chocolate. And love.
